Through translucency, glow, and shadow, lighting becomes a way to shape mood and depth, allowing material to soften a space and influence how it is experienced.
LAANK approached us to develop custom biotextiles for backlighting and lighting fixtures within The Marmalade Pantry.
Using kitchen waste from the brand itself, we created a translucent material with a rich, jam-like texture that echoes the essence of marmalade. When backlit, the material takes on depth and warmth, turning waste into a glowing surface that subtly reinforces the space’s narrative through light, texture, and tone.
